How do I switch guides or set a default voice in the app?

Can I switch guides on the app? Learn how to save your preferred voice guide as the default setting!

This article will show you how you can change the guide in the Hallow app. It is also possible to set a default voice for most sessions. Please note, not all sessions will have the same available voices. Some sessions, especially by guest guides, offer only one voice option. (e.g. Catechism In A Year, Bible In a Year, Athletes, etc…)


Here is how to set a default guide on the mobile app:

Follow the steps below to set your voice guide preference so you won't have to change it repeatedly.

  • Step 1. Start the prayer/session by tapping on "Play Session"

  • Step 2. Tap the "♪" or music note icon to access the voice options

  • Step 3. Click on "Guide"

  • Step 4. Pick your preferred voice guide from the list to choose your default voice guide

Your preferred guide will be the default for any prayer where they are an option. Please note that some specific prayers only have one or two options for voice guides.


Here is how you can switch guides on the mobile app:

  • Step 1. Before starting a session, tap the musical note icon at the bottom of the screen.

  • Step 2. Click on the musical note icon "♪" to check the available voice guides.

  • Step 3. A list of guides for the session will appear.

  • Step 4. Tap on the desired guide or voice option from the list.


Here is how you can switch guides on the web app:

  • Step 1. Open the session you want to listen to.

  • Step 2. Look for the player bar at the bottom of the screen.

  • Step 3. Look at the bottom right corner of the screen and click on the Adjustment icon (the second one between “Share” and “Book”).

  • Step 4. Once you've clicked on it, you will have several options.

  • Step 5. Click “Guide” to adjust it according to your preference.
