Overview of how the app works on the website:
Welcome to this overview of the Hallow web app! We hope this helps orient you to all that you can do to maximize your experience with Hallow!
The website app is divided into four tabs: Home, Search, Bible, and Me.
Home Tab
The Home tab of the web app is where you will find the Quote for the Day, Prayer Challenges, Prayer Campaigns, Daily Trivia, Featured Collections, and Suggested Prayers.
You'll find a carousel of suggested prayers on this tab, including:
Morning Routines
Nightly Routines
Explore by Category
Kids & Schools
Courses
Music
...and more!
At the moment, the website app does not offer the option to create or edit routines, check your prayer streak, or add a journal entry.
Search Tab
On the Search Tab of the web app, you will find several categories. If you are unable to locate the prayers and sessions you need, you can access the Search Tab to search for them. Once you click on it, you will see various categories with a selection of prayers and sessions.
For example, when you search and use the keyword "Fr. Mike" within the app, it will provide you with four different options on how to locate content:
Top Results: This option combines all of the top results related to the topic you're searching for. Your search results may include sessions, collections, categories, and even references to Bible content
Collection: Collections are groups of prayers or sessions bundled together. For instance, "Daily Homilies" is a good example of a collection.
Sessions: This option helps you find individual sessions or prayers that are guided by Fr. Mike. If you're looking for a specific prayer or topic, this is the place to start.
Categories: A category refers to one of the sections that come up pre-organized in the search tab. If you search for a topic and we already have organized all of those sessions into a category, then it will come up under "Categories." Since we have a category for Fr. Mike, clicking on "Categories" will take you to a page filled with all of the sessions and collections related to Fr. Mike's content.
Bible Tab
The bible tab on the web app enables you to access individual books of the Bible. The Bible tab offers several versions, including language-specific editions that match the available languages in the app.
For the English Translation, when you first tap on the Bible tab, it will default to the Daily Reading for the day. To view the Daily Readings from a different day, tap the date in the top right corner. You can also navigate to past or upcoming readings.
Now, if you want to access the Bible, Just tap the Daily Reading to switch it to Bible and it will default to Genesis 1 and the Bible Translation is NRSV. To choose a book of the Bible, click on Genesis 1. You can scroll up or down in the menu to view additional books or chapters within the selected book. If you'd like to change the Bible translation, tap on "NRSV" and select from the available Bible translations by scrolling up and down.
Me Tab
On this tab, you will find your Favorites and Recently Prayed sessions.
The Menu
To manage your account, click on the list or menu Icon located in the upper right corner of your screen. Clicking this icon allows you to buy a gift card, go to Settings, and Logout.
When you click on Settings, you will have access to various options to personalize and manage your experience. You can change settings, update your subscription, manage your email preferences, and more:
Account: Update your profile, email, phone number, change your password, merge accounts, and delete your account.
Subscription: Choose the plan you want to subscribe to or switch to.
Language: Change your language in the app.
Contact & Support: When clicking on this link, you will be taken to our Help Center where you can search our help articles or reach out to our support team.
Legal: Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and Copyright Info,
App Settings: Themes, font style preference, and the option to increase space between letters and words.
How to listen to sessions using the web app:
To listen to a session, click on the Home tab and simply tap on the session, and select Play Session. You can minimize and maximize the player by tapping the image.
When you click Play, you will find several icons to customize your listening preferences.
You can Skip Intro for many sessions. To rewind, tap the minus button to the left of the play button. To fast forward, tap the plus button. Each tap rewinds or fast-forwards by 10 seconds. You can also use the slider to skip through the session to the end. This will mark the session as completed.
Beside the “Play” button, you will find several options:
Up Arrow: Share the session on various platforms.
Equalizer Icon: Change the background music, adjust the playback speed, and add a sleep timer.
Book Icon: Display the text on the screen. It may not be for for available for all the sessions due to copyrights, for example.
You have the ability to adjust the font size to Small, Medium and Large.
List Icon: Create a playlist, shuffle, or repeat sessions.
Sound Icon: To adjust the volume
