What is Hallow’s Lent Pray40 challenge?
Pray40 is Hallow’s seasonal community challenge for Lent. This year’s theme is “The Return.”
Pray40: The Return is an invitation to come home—to God, to one another, and to the truth of who we are. Just as the Prodigal Son rises and returns to his father’s embrace, this challenge invites us to make that same journey of repentance and renewal. Drawing from The Brothers Karamazov and its call to “active love,” we’ll explore what it means to live as people who take responsibility “for all and on behalf of all.” The road home is not a solitary one; like the brothers in Dostoevsky’s story, we find our way by learning to love in action—through mercy, humility, and the willingness to bear one another’s burdens.

Do I need to read the books to participate? What should I expect?
Reading along with the books is encouraged but not required. The daily sessions are designed to support your prayer journey whether or not you’re reading the books in full.
Here’s what to expect:
The challenge will cover selected excerpts but it does not read the entire book of The Brothers Karamazov.
Sessions reference important ideas, reflections, and passages rather than reading the text word-for-word.
The audio content is meant to complement the reading, not replace it.
You can fully participate even if you:
Read at your own pace
Or choose not to read the book at all
Who are the guides for the Lent Pray40 challenge?
This Lent, we’ll be praying with an incredible line up of guides:
Jonathan Roumie
Sr. Miriam
Mother Olga
Chris Pratt
Mark Wahlberg
Jeff Cavins
How long are each of the sessions in Pray40?
Session lengths vary, but most are around 10 minutes, with some slightly longer. If you miss a day, previous sessions remain available so you can continue at your own pace.
I want to advance to the next day of the Pray40 challenge, it’s greyed out.
Pray40 content unlocks one day at a time. We’re unable to unlock future sessions in advance, but a new episode will become available each day.
Do you have something specific for Kids this Lent?
Yes! The Kid’s Lent challenge is designed for families with children ages 6–12.
The Miracle Hunters: In this challenge, we will follow some of our favorite characters: Mia, Paul, Brad, and Grace as they journey through Lent. The gang make it their lenten mission to learn about miracles and have their faith tested and strengthened along the way. Each day will be split up into a different type of listening experience for families: some days Mia and Paul will "dive into" a saint story Saints Alive style, other days they will meet different characters that tell their vocation story (Sister Miriam, Sister Josephine etc), they will play family games, pray the stations of the cross and have episodes from a fun new game show, Holy Moly!
