Frequently asked questions about Hallow giving campaigns!

I don't see any giving campaigns in my app. Are they always available?

No, giving campaigns are not always active. Campaigns are launched occasionally in partnership with select Catholic organizations for specific causes, sometimes in partnership with Catholic organizations. When no campaigns are running, the giving campaigns section may not appear on your Home screen.

How long are donations accepted?

We stop accepting donations one week after a campaign ends.

How can I support previous giving campaign partners when no campaigns are live?

When you don't see active giving campaigns but want to support previous ones, you can find and donate to them directly through:

  • Their official websites (most have dedicated donation pages)

To stay informed about new campaigns, ensure your app notifications are enabled and check the Home tab regularly for campaign announcements.

Can I donate with another payment method?

At this time, Hallow is not facilitating alternative payment methods for giving campaigns beyond what's available in-app or online.

Can I get a receipt for my donation?

Yes, giving campaign supporters receive two receipts:

  1. Stripe Receipt – Sent automatically after your donation. If not received, we can help retrieve it.

  2. Hallow Receipt – Sent by us and includes donation details.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes, donations are made directly to the campaign recipient and are tax-deductible. A year-end giving statement will be provided.

What’s the “Cover Transaction Fee” checkbox?

When donating, you'll see an optional checkbox to help cover the processing fee. This checkbox is unchecked by default, and the fee updates automatically as you enter your donation amount. If you choose to cover the fee, it will appear as a separate line item on your receipt. Covering the fee ensures that the full donation amount goes directly to the intended recipient.

Can I change the amount of my donation after submitting it?

  • To donate more: Please submit another donation.

  • If you donated too much: We can process a partial refund to adjust the donation if needed. Submit your request by reaching out to support@hallow.app.

Can I make my donation anonymous after submitting it?

Yes, you can edit your note of support, delete it, or change your anonymity settings if you want to display your name along with the note by tapping the 3 dots next to your donation

Can I make my donation a recurring gift?

We currently only support one-time donations.

Is Hallow matching donations?

If a match is available, you’ll see it displayed in the campaign’s progress bar. Donations must go through Hallow to be eligible for matching.

Can I donate directly to the organization instead of through Hallow?

Yes, but donations made outside of Hallow will not be eligible for matching.

Can I remove Giving Campaigns from my Home screen?

No, these are visible to all users by default.

I want to start a giving campaign for my own cause. Is that possible?

We’re grateful for your interest! Our giving campaigns feature is currently limited to select partners. You’re welcome to explore setting up a prayer campaign instead.
