How to join your parish or connect with friends in the Hallow app!

Updated yesterday

There are two types of communities you can join using the Community Tab in the Hallow app:

  1. Friends - for connecting with any friends and family who also use Hallow!

  2. Church - for connecting with other parishioners at your church!

You will be able to toggle between these two communities in the upper lefthand corner of that tab.

Within each community you can chat with individuals or have group messages.

How do I join my church community in the mobile app for the first time?

Follow these steps to connect with your parish in Hallow:

  1. Ensure that your app is current by accessing the Apple App Store or the Android Google Play Store. If an update is available, click it to make sure you have the latest version.

  2. Tap the Community Tab, located at the bottom of your screen and then Get Started.

  3. Set up your profile with a username. Tap Continue.

    1. Note: Your username is required and it can’t have any spaces.

  4. On the next screen you have the option to go ahead and sync your contacts to make it easier to find your friends. This can be changed later on.

    1. If you do sync your contacts and want to revoke access later, go to your device Settings and change the permissions for “Contacts” (For Apple, this will be a toggle option. For Android, you’ll choose “Permissions” then “Contacts” and choose the option “Don’t Allow”).

    2. Skip if you do not want all your contacts to by synced to your Hallow’s account.

  5. Search for your church with a key word or a zip code, tap on the church you want to join and then Join.
