How do you create a group in the Hallow app?

I want to create a group in the app within my communities!

Updated this week

In the Hallow app, you have the ability to create your own prayer group, whether or not you are part of a larger Community, such as your Church. This feature allows you to establish specific groups for prayer and fellowship, enabling you to connect with others on a more personal level.

If you’re part of a Community

You can create a group within your existing Church or Friends to pray and share reflections together.

  • Step 1: Tap the Community tab located at the bottom of your screen.

  • Step 2: Tap Friends in the upper left-hand corner of the tab. You’ll see the options to Join a Church or Create a Group.

  • Step 3: Tap Create a Group

  • Step 4: Enter your Group Name. You can review the Community Guidelines below the Continue button to ensure your group adheres to them.

  • Step 5: Tell us a little bit about your group by stating its purpose, then click Continue.

  • Step 6: Select a profile photo for your group. You can upload your own photo, or choose from the pre-generated images available as you scroll down.

  • Step 7: The app will prompt you to decide if you want this group to be part of your Community (Church and Groups). If you don’t want the group to be included in your Community, simply click Skip at the bottom.

  • Step 8: Select a collection to pray with your group. There are several pre-generated collections to choose from, including Bible Studies, Book Clubs, Challenges, and Courses. Please note that some collections may require a Hallow free trial or subscription to access. If this is the case, a pop-up will appear below the Select and Continue button.

  • Step 8: Click Select and Continue.

  • Step 9: Choose the date when you’d like your group to start praying the collection together.

  • Step 10: Review the Summary of Your Group. When you’re satisfied with the details, click Create Group.

  • Step 11: Once your group is created, you can start inviting friends to join and pray together.

If you’re not part of a Community

You can still create a group and select a collection of prayers within the app to begin your prayer journey with friends, family, or anyone you invite.

  • Step 7: Select a collection to pray with your group.
