Learn how to privately message someone, delete messages or comments in group chats, and mute notifications in your group chats. This article will walk you through the steps to manage your messages and notifications in the Community Tab.
How to send someone a message privately
You can message someone privately by visiting their profile. If they have posted an intention, you can also tap the Messages icon from their intention. Intentions can be found in the carousel at the top or as a card when scrolling down in the Community Tab.
How do I delete a message/comment
If you're an admin or the one who posted the message, you have the ability to delete messages in the group chat. Simply follow these steps:
Go to the Community Tab.
In the upper-right corner, tap the chat icon.
This will open your messages.
Use the search bar to find the group by typing the group's name.
Tap on the group where the message you want to delete is located.
Open the chat.
Long press the message and select Delete.
Can I mute notifications on my group chats?
If you don’t want to be notified by new messages coming in from your group, you can easily mute by following these steps:
Go to the Community Tab.
In the upper-right corner, tap the chat icon.
This will open your messages.
Use the search bar to find the group by typing the group's name.
Tap on the group where the message you want to delete is located.
Open the chat.
Tap the three-button icon on the upper-right corner of your screen.
Tap Mute chat
You'll know you've successfully muted the group when you see the mute icon 🔕 next to the group chat.
How to leave a group chat
Go to the Community Tab.
In the upper-right corner, tap the chat icon.
This will open your messages.
Use the search bar to find the group by typing the group's name.
Tap on the group where the message you want to delete is located.
Open the chat.
Tap the three-button icon on the upper-right corner of your screen.
Tap Leave chat
