To connect your child to your parish's Faith Formation (Religious Education - RE) program, your parish will send you a unique invite link. Setup takes a few minutes and stays entirely in your hands. Here's what to do and what to expect.
Note: This is different from claiming a school account. If your child's school (not your parish) uses Hallow, see How do I claim my child's school account? instead.
How to connect your child's profile to a Faith Formation Program
Tap the invite link your parish sent you (by text, email, or QR code).
If you don't already have a Hallow account, you'll be prompted to create one — no subscription or trial will be prompted at this step.
Choose how to proceed:
Option 1: Link an existing child's profile or standard account to the program
If your child is using a kids profile on your account, you'll select their profile while logged into your account.
If your child is 13 or older with their own standard Hallow account, open the invite link while logged into your child's account, select My Account on the initial screen, and confirm the connection.
Option 2: Create a new child's profile and link it — you may be asked for your child's name and to set a PIN as part of this step
Confirm that you're connecting to the correct Faith Formation (Religious Education - RE) program.
What to expect
Your own profile doesn't change. Program content unlocks on your child's Kids Profile only — your own profile and any subscription stay exactly as they are.
No purchases, no ads. In-app purchases (subscriptions, books, and prints) are disabled on Kids Profiles, and Hallow is entirely ad-free.
The same profile, anywhere. Favorites, streaks, and listening history follow your child between home and their program.
FAQs
What's the difference between connecting a school account and a Faith Formation (Religious Education - RE) program?
Schools create your child's account first, and you select ("claim") it. For Faith Formation (Religious Education - RE) programs, you create your child's account or profile yourself and link it to the program — nothing is pre-created for you.
Do I need to pay for anything to connect my child?
No — connecting your child's profile is free and doesn't require a subscription.
What if my child already has a Hallow account?
If your child is 13 or older with their own standard Hallow account, open the invite link while logged into that account, select My Account on the initial screen, and confirm the connection.
Will switching my child's existing account to a Kids Profile affect anything they already had saved?
Yes — switching an existing profile to Kids limits it to the Kids library going forward. Anything your child had saved or favorited outside that library won't be reachable from the profile anymore.
Can I manage or remove my child's profile later?
Yes — the profile lives in your account, so you can manage it, see what your child is praying with, and remove it at any time.
Do I need to do this every time a new program year starts?
No — just once. If your child's profile is already connected to a Hallow community, they don't need to go through this again.
What can my child access?
Kids profiles (under 13): No access to the Church tab, no DMs, no groups.
Standard accounts (13+): Church tab access is available if the parish enables the feature. Youth under 18 still will not be able to create groups or access DMs.
