This article will guide you on the different ways to create an account with Hallow.
You can create an account through the mobile app which can be downloaded through the Google Play store or Apple App Store.
You can also create an account through the Hallow website.
🔐 Four Ways to Sign In
Regardless of whether you create your account in the mobile app or on our website, there are 4 options for signing in:
Email address
Phone number
Apple ID
Google account
⚠️ IMPORTANT - Your Sign-In Method Matters
Choose ONE method and use it consistently across ALL devices.
Why this matters:
Each sign-in method creates a separate account. If you use different methods on different devices, you'll end up with multiple accounts that don't sync with each other.
📱 Real Example:
Scenario 1 (CORRECT - Everything syncs):
Monday: Sign up on iPhone using phone number +1-555-1234
Friday: Log in on iPad using phone number +1-555-1234
Saturday: Log in on computer using phone number +1-555-1234
✅ Result: ONE account. Your subscription, prayer history, and streaks sync across all devices.
Scenario 2 (WRONG - Creates separate accounts):
Monday: Sign up on iPhone using phone number +1-555-1234
Friday: Log in on iPad using email@gmail.com
Saturday: Log in on computer using Apple ID
❌ Result: THREE separate accounts. Nothing syncs. Your subscription only works on the device where you purchased it.
Sign In with Email
You can create an account using any email address:
Type your email address (e.g. name@gmail.com, name@hotmail.com, etc.)
Tap Continue
You should receive a magic link or a 6-digit verification code in your inbox
Click the link or enter the code to complete sign-up
Remember: If you sign up with email, use your email on ALL devices to access the same account.
Sign In with Phone Number only for the USA residents
🌐 This option is not available for international users.
Tap “Use Phone Number Instead” (found below the Continue button after tapping the Continue with email or phone option).
Select the country code for USA (e.g. +1 for USA).
Add your number (e.g. 7919429428).
Tap Verify via Text Message.
Wait for the text message that will be sent to your number for verification purposes.
Enter the code to complete sign-up
Remember: If you sign up with your phone number, use your phone number on ALL devices to access the same account.
👉 If you created your account using a phone number and you’re located outside the US, you may not be able to log back in using your phone number. Instead, we recommend creating a new login using your email address and requesting a merge with your original phone number account.
If you initially signed up using your phone number and have been logged out of your account, here is how to get back into Hallow:
Tap Continue with Email
On the next screen, it will ask “What’s your email?”
Enter your preferred email address to create a new account and complete the login or sign-up process
Once logged in, contact us at support@hallow.app to request a merge with your original phone number account.
If you're unable to access your phone number account or complete the merge on your own, we’re happy to help!
Sign In with Apple ID
You can create a Hallow account using your Apple ID:
Tap Continue with Apple
A prompt will ask if you prefer to share or hide your Apple ID email:
Share My Email: Uses your actual Apple ID email
Hide My Email: Uses a private relay email address (e.g. tvx8ncnpfk@privaterelay.appleid.com)
Tap your preference
Confirm to complete sign-up
Note: If you select "Hide My Email," the email registered in our database will be a randomly generated private relay address from Apple.
Remember: If you sign up with Apple ID, use Apple ID on ALL devices to access the same account.
Sign In with Google
You can create a Hallow account using your Google account:
Tap Continue with Google
A prompt will ask your permission to use your Google account for Hallow
Tap Continue
Select which Google account you'd like to use (if you have multiple)
Another prompt will confirm your permission
Tap Continue to complete sign-up
Remember: If you sign up with Google, use Google on ALL devices to access the same account.
How to add your email, phone, or name to an existing account:
Once you've created your account, you can add additional contact information. This is helpful if you want the flexibility to sign in using multiple methods on the SAME account.
To add information:
Tap the Me tab at the bottom
Tap the settings gear icon ⚙️
Tap the first section above General (where your Hallow character is displayed with your current email or phone number)
You'll see an option to Update or Add an email or phone number depending on what you originally used to sign up
Once you add both a phone number AND an email to your account, you'll be able to use BOTH methods to log into the SAME account.
Example:
You signed up with your phone number +1-555-1234
You add email@gmail.com to your account in Settings
Now you can log in with EITHER your phone number OR your email on any device
Both methods access the same account with the same prayer history and subscription
Once you add both a phone number and an email to your account, you’ll be able to use both options to log into the same account.
Troubleshooting: Why Isn't My Subscription Showing Up?
If you purchased a subscription to Hallow but it's not showing up on another device, the most common reason is that you're logged into a different account. Follow the instructions below to check which account you are logged into on each device.
If the account details and subscriptions are different, we suggest merging them into whichever account you want to be your primary.
How to check:
Device where you are able to unlock premium content or are not asked to subscribe:
Open Hallow
Go to Me tab → Settings
Note the email or phone number shown at the top
Device where you are NOT able to unlock premium content or are not asked to subscribe :
Open Hallow
Go to Me tab → Settings
Note the email or phone number shown at the top
Compare them:
If they're DIFFERENT → You're logged into separate accounts
If they're the SAME → See troubleshooting steps below
If the accounts are different:
You have three options:
Option 1: Log out and log back in with the correct method (Easiest)
On the device where Premium isn't working, log out
Log back in using the SAME sign-in method you used when you purchased Premium
Your subscription should now appear
Option 2: Add your email/phone to your existing account (Recommended)
Follow the steps in "How to add email, phone, or name to your account" above
This lets you use multiple sign-in methods for the SAME account
Going forward, you can log in with either method
Option 3: Merge your accounts (If you have prayer history on both)
Follow the steps in this article to merge your accounts
This combines your prayer history and ensures your subscription works everywhere
If the accounts are the same but subscription still isn't showing:
Try these troubleshooting steps:
Check your internet connection - Make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data
Log out and log back in - Sometimes this refreshes your subscription status
Restart the app - Close the app completely and reopen it
Update the app - Make sure you have the latest version from your app store
Restore purchases (iOS only) - Go to Settings → Tap "Restore Purchases"
Still not working? Contact us at support@hallow.app or through the purple chat window in the app.
