Frequently asked questions and answers for admins who have created their own group in the Hallow Community Tab.

Will my group be public or searchable?

  • No, only church communities are searchable. Custom groups you create need to be shared with your network via a direct invite link.

  • If you’re on a partner plan (Basic, Growth, or Expansion), you can also make your group private, meaning new members must request to join and be approved by an admin.

How do I delete a comment in the group chat?

How do I remove someone from the group?

  • Only group admins can remove someone from a group. Click the info icon and go into the settings of your group and click manage members. Find the person you want to remove and click the three dot menu to the right of the name. Click remove from group.

How can I add someone as an admin to my group?

  • Go into the settings of the group and click manage members. Find the person you want to add as an admin and click the three dot menu to the right of their name. Click assign as admin.

How can I make my group private?

How do I unlink a small group from my parish?

  • Parish admins can unlink or remove small groups from their parish page at any time.

    • In the App: Go to Church Page → Info → Settings → Manage Small Groups → three-dot menu (⋯) → Remove from Community.

    • In the Admin Dashboard: Go to Groups → three-dot menu (⋯) → Remove from Group.

How can I report inappropriate behavior

  • Customers can report Intentions, Campaigns, User Profiles, and Community Profiles. To do so, just tap the three-dot menu and click report. You can read more about our Community Guidelines here.

How can I edit my community name/community description/photo?

  • Go to your group info page (i), and click on settings then Group Info. Here you can edit your group image, name, and bio.

How do I add a prayer request?

  • Within the community tab, just tap on the plus sign (+) in the upper lefthand corner of your screen to add your intention. You can share them or keep your intentions private.

  • You can also add an intention before starting any prayer in the app, just tap Pray for an Intention then write in your intention.

How do I pray for someone’s intention?

  • Within the community tab, you can view intentions in a story-like carousel at the top of your screen or by scrolling down through the community activity feed.

  • You can also pray for someone’s intention when you go to start any prayer in the app, just tap Pray for an Intention then scroll right to select the intentions you want pray for.

How do I send a message to everyone in the group?

  • Go to your group info page, and click the chat icon. Both admins and members have the ability to send messages to the entire group.

How do I manage the privacy of my reflections and prayer intentions? What is shared with other people in my group?

What other group settings can I manage as an admin?

As a group admin, you can:

  • Manage members and assign admin permissions.

  • Remove or unlink small groups from your parish.

  • Enable or disable Private Group settings.

  • Approve member join requests (for private groups).

  • Manage small group visibility and linking to your parish.

  • Edit your group’s name, bio, and photo.

  • Allow or restrict access to Hallow global challenges.
